IS AMERICA BEING PLAYED FOR THE FOOL AGAIN?

Gomer Pyle on the Andy Griffith show had a saying: “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” Are we about to be fooled again, or have we learned from the first time around?

The Obama organization played the voters for fools in the 2008 election by using all sorts of means to deceive and maneuver voters into choosing the liberals. Obama promised all sorts of things that never materialized, (that’s called lying) but he has brought a lot of “change;” just not what the American people wanted or expected.

There were reports of all kinds of voter fraud and intimidation during the 2008 election, but no one bothered to follow up, instead sweeping it all under the rug. “After all, he is the first “black” president of the United States.”

Although the Democrats frequently try to play the “race” card, this is not a race issue. It is a convoluted mess. There are questions that have never been addressed concerning Obama’s eligibility to be in office, from his birth to his czars. He obviously believes that he is above the law and constantly skirts the Constitution where possible. He is obviously a socialist; everything he does “smacks” of it.

Don’t the liberals get it? Socialism is a failed system, yet we have this whole group of so-called “progressives,” that are bent on transforming America into a socialist state. The “main-stream” media is in bed with them and eating out of their hands. I’ve never quite understood how so many “news” organizations are more faithful to the socialist cause than to God himself.

During the 2012 election we can expect to see liberals working closely with the “media” to shape or “spin” all the news to try to push the conservatives to the bottom of the heap. What are they hoping to achieve here? Do they all want to pay higher taxes; to have long waiting lines for goods, services and medical care; to lose all the money they have saved for retirement; to see the collapse of the greatest free country on the earth; to put America in poverty as a third-world country?

How about see everyone lose their Social Security which we have paid into for all our working years; and there is a shortage of funds to pay for it just because the government has been stealing from “the cookie jar?” This is money that belongs to those who paid it in, not voluntarily, but under government compulsion. They took it from us under false pretense and squandered it on things we the people disagree with.

Are we being played the fool?

I am not against having a president of any race. There is a black candidates running for president, who will likely get my vote in the primary election and in the general election if he gets that far. At this point, Herman Cain looks electable and I think he would be a fine president. My criterion is that a president must have good moral character. He must hold human life dear.

Barack Obama has no regard for the unborn. This tells me a lot about where his heart is. He indicated that he would be in agreement with aborting a child that was his own flesh and blood. “I don’t want my daughter to be punished with a baby!” A baby is not punishment, it is one of God’s greatest blessings. Someone to whom life is so cheap as to destroy it has no place in government leadership at all. He claims to be a Christian. In my opinion abortion has no place in the life of a child of God.

It’s time we put a stop to the murdering of unborn babies in this country. How can anyone think killing another human being is a good, or even an acceptable thing? Are we barbarians? How did America go this low?

It’s disgraceful that we have allowed the destruction of not just a few, but millions of Americans. One is too many. It is unconstitutional to do murder in America. As Americans we are entitled to “LIFE,” liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Abortion violates the constitution just like murder (because that’s really what it is). After a trial, a murderer may be sentenced to death. A totally innocent unborn baby is being sentenced to death by abortion without a trial. That’s not due process under the law.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!

A baby is a human one minute before birth the same as it is one minute after. Why is aborting (killing) a baby just prior to being born acceptable, but one second after it is born is killing it is considered murder. Does it change from not being human to being fully human in a minute’s time? That’s insanity!

VOTING

As law abiding citizens, it is our duty to vote against anyone who is in favor of abortion. As a true believer in Jesus Christ, I could never in good conscience, vote for anyone who is pro-abortion, no matter what other attributes he (or she) may have. It’s time we (Christians) humbled ourselves and prayed, seeking the face of God for forgiveness of our sins and those of our nation, turning away from sin and despising it. This is probably the last hope for keeping this country together. God cannot bless continual disobedience, we must repent and turn back to Him and surrender our lives to Him that we may be saved and that America may survive.

Please don’t take your obligation to vote for upstanding, honest candidates in the 2012 election as an unimportant thing, we have sat on the sidelines way too long.

Political Deceit in the Capitol

I am appalled by what I am seeing from the left-wing leaders in Washington. President Obama goes on TV and says that the majority of the public is in favor of a tax hike to help keep the government afloat. Other polls indicate very much the opposite. The reason for this is that when you do a poll, you should ask questions in a factual way that doesn't sway the person who is being poll in any direction. It should always be objective and honest. The way pollsters get the results they want is to load the questions; to state them in such a way that they get the "right" answers. This is not objective polling.

The Network News departments are so loaded with liberals that every story must have a purpose that fits their agenda, and that agenda is to keep the democrats in power forever. You can see the bias and hear it in their voices. When they speak of right-wing politicians, there is a tone of sarcasm in their speech. When they talk about liberals and especially Obama, honey drips from their lips.

I had been watching ABC news every evening and got tired of it, so I switched to CBS. I like Scott Pelley, but he has to read whatever the news writers set before him, so there is the extreme liberal slant again. I'm tired of all of it now and prefer to have silence in my home during new time.

What do these people think we the American public are, a bunch of lamebrains? Well they will have another stark awaking at election time when we dump most of the liberals that are running and replace them with conservatives.

I do not consider myself a republican, rather a conservative. I am tired of big government taking away a large part of our hard earned income and giving it away to organizations that don't need it, or waste it, or worse yet, use it to abort unborn babies.

We really need a big change in Washington and in our local governments, back to the Christian principles that our founding fathers held to.

If we keep this president, we will have to have intervention from God to remain a sovereign nation. If we want more unemployment, increased taxation, socialized medical care, and all sorts of promises that are never fulfilled, then we will have to take the consequences that go with it.

Obama promised change and he is trying to change the United States into a third-world country.
He has used all sorts of scare tactics to try to get his way, such as threatening seniors and the military, that if the congress doesn't give in to increasing the debt limit, he will withhold their checks. How low! It sounds like children saying if you want play what I want to, I'll just go home.

Our country can be fixed if we stick with the conservatives and all work together to get things back under the control of people who want the best for America.

Obama Press = ABC

It should be against the law for a sitting president who boasts that he is going to raise a billion dollars for his re-election campaign to have access to major television audiences for FREE.

June 17 on "Good-morning America," ABC had a long interview with President Obama answering questions about Father's Day. What better way to make him "look" to be family friendly. None of the major TV networks will say anything against him, no matter how destructive he is to our nation.

During this period leading up to the election of 2012, we need to be very careful to not get pulled into believing that Obama is a pro-American president. Nothing could be further from the truth. If he has another four years, we are in deep trouble and may not be able to hold our country together. He has made shambles of our economy and we are so in debt as a nation that it will take decades to recover if we stop him NOW.

Obama has NO respect for our Constitution and its God-given values. He has no respect for the sanctity of human life. (As in LIFE, LIBERTY and the pursuit of Happiness. How can you have liberty and the pursuit of happiness without first having LIFE?) He made it very plain where he stands on abortion when he said if one of his daughters got pregnant out of wedlock, he didn't want her "punished" with a baby. This suggests that he would have his own unborn grandchild aborted if the circumstances deem it expedient.

Obama's agenda is to abort babies through the agency of "Planned Parenthood," and force what he wants down our throats; making us pay for things that we strongly oppose. At the same time, he is all for amnesty for illegal aliens; they will vote for him. It's all about getting re-elected so he can continue his Alinsky programs.

God help us to hold on to this fabulous country that we have been blessed with for so long. Help us to not be so complacent that we just sit around and let it go under.

H1N1 FLU???

I was just wondering about something. Where did the H1N1 Flu get off to? In the Fall and Winter of 2009 it was the big problem that was going to affect everyone. Where is it now?

Now-a-days, the media is saying that research has proven that Flu shots do not cause Alzheimer’s. Does that make Flu shots a good idea?

How about all the high levels of mercury in Flu shots; is that no longer a problem for mercury poisoning? Is it o.k. for our children to receive high dosages of mercury just because Flu shots, as they say, do not cause Alzheimer’s? Personally, I think they’re whack-o.

Never let a good crisis go to waste!

That’s what some of the Democrat Party folks were saying when Obama was running for president. Could it be that they were creating their own “crisis?” I hope no one decides that we need another new crisis to exploit. What kind of sick thinking is that?

Do you remember Y2k? In 1999, many “experts” were saying that at the turn of the century to 2000 all the computers would cease to function or go berserk. The scenario included the power-grid going down and factories computers going wild. It was all a farce so someone could sell a lot of books.

I am an electronics engineer with over 50 years experience and I said from the beginning that it would not be a problem. After the first few days of 2000, there was hardly a mention of it. It went away just like H1N1.

Now, there is beginning to be a lot of the talk about the end of the world, focused on the Mayan Calendar. That’s because their calendar ends with the Winter solstice in December of 2012. More foolishness. Actually, that calendar starts over on that date. That’s the way they set it up. It has nothing to do with the end of the world, just the end of that cycle.

There are a lot of farces going around and many people get taken in by them every time. Those listed above and of course global warming, which has become global cooling.

“Scientists” are even saying that all the rainfall and snow is being caused by global warming. That defies logic. When we have all this cold weather and average it with all the hot weather last summer, it will be about the same ratio that always exists on the earth. Variations in weather and temperature are normal as the earth goes through its normal cycles. It’s nothing to be alarmed about. Security

One of the basic components of life, just above survival in importance, is feeling secure. We seek security through relationships, jobs, insurance policies, promises, savings, things, etc.

Because our relationships on earth necessarily involve other people, we can always be “let down.” We can lose jobs, insurance policies can sometimes be bad investments, promises can be broken, and savings can be devalued. Things that we acquire are useful only in this life and are temporary at best. The security we experience from them is soon gone and we’re insecure again.

People who feel insecure have done all sorts of bazaar things, even to taking their own lives or the lives of others. There has to be a better way.

I have heard it said that “the one who dies with the most things wins.” Actually, the one who dies eternally secure wins.” There is only one way to be eternally secure and that is to trust Jesus Christ as your savior, surrendering everything you are and all you have to His care and trusting Him for your eternal well being.

The most important form of security is “eternal security,” and it is too often neglected. The time to become eternally secure is “NOW.” Waiting is a dangerous thing. We do not know how much longer we have to live, and accepting Jesus has to be done before we die if we hope to have eternal life with Him. People seem to be hesitant to take this step, but after they do, cares and worries vanish away and they have a much happier, more fulfilled life. The joy of knowing Jesus is worth more than all the treasures of this world.

NEW START TREATY

In today's news is a story that says that ten of the newly elected GOP Senators, in a letter to Harry Reid, are asking for a delay in the consideration of the "New Start Treaty" with Russia that our president has signed-on to.

This is what they wrote:

“Out of respect for our states’ voters, we believe it would be improper for the Senate to consider the New START Treaty or any other treaty in a lame duck session prior to January 3, 2011.”

The President is trying again to push this through as quick as he can, without the consent of the American people. If you rush things through, the people do not have time to hear about what they are doing until it is already done and too late to change it. This is the method that they use to destroy our way of life, just like they did with ObamaCare.

Just last evening I saw a screening of a film by Heritage Foundation about missile defense. There was also a discussion about this treaty. It would lock us into the same old restraining situation we were in with the Soviet Union, with a similar treaty, before it fell. We were locked into it for years, even after the Soviet Union fell. President Reagan got us out of it. This "New Start Treaty" would again put restraints on our ability to build out a defense system.

They are trying to prevent us from being able to set up a system of missiles that would intercept any missiles fired at us from our enemies and destroy them in space instead of having massive destruction of our country.

This is a continuation of the SDI type system that President Reagan started, with great opposition from the Democrats. These intercept missiles would not carry warheads, but would crash into the on-coming missile with great precision and destroy them. This has already been tested with great success.

We need to build this system. It will make our country much stronger against those who would attack us and keep the people safer in this nation and others as well. The cost of such a system would be less than the cost of recovering from any one single successful nuclear strike on this country. Such a system could save possibly millions of lives.

When we are strong, others know they can't take us out. There are those who would like to see America reduced to a third world country and are working to that end. Let's keep our country strong against aggression.

Thoughts from Above

Every once in a while some thought “drops” into my mind that to me seems the obvious and undeniable truth concerning creation. I had one of those moments today and would like to share it.

I thought of the fact that, according to our best scientists, there is no other planet in our universe that has an atmosphere for life to exist like it does here on earth. Not ONE is even close to it. Apparently there is NO life anywhere that compares to life on the earth.

Why does the universe exist anyway? It seems that no one can give a real answer to this question. I believe it exists, by design, for a habitation for life in which the “highest form” is human beings. If this is true, what would be its purpose? It is so obvious that earth was created. There is no natural thing here that is founded in chaos.

Have you ever read in the story of creation in Genesis how God declared everything He created to be “good.” This was stated with each stage of creation. There was no “random or natural” selection in that story. There is no real proof that there is such a thing as natural selection. That would require intelligence to come from something that has no intelligence. What is called natural selection is actually the design of the creator. Those who don’t want to believe in creation have to make up something to explain how it all got here; hence the terms “random mutations,” “natural selection,” etc.

Think about how the earth is made, with all the minerals necessary to sustain life; replete with air (with the perfect composition for animal and human life), sunshine (just hot enough for life and not hot enough to destroy living creatures), water (perfectly constructed to support life), adequate vegetation for food, trees and other plants for cover from varying climates. Most creatures have two eyes; all are designed with a way to take in nutrition and excrete waste matter to sustain life. Each is equipped with some way to deal with predators.

Why does this planet have an atmosphere suitable for animal and plant life? How did it get here? What’s its purpose?

For one to think that we are the result of random mutations or some cosmic accident is a sad thing. Those who believe this have no long-term hope. In other words, when their life on earth ends, they have NO hope of continued existence. No joy of looking forward to meeting their awesome creator. If they are wrong, what a sad day it will be when they have to face the one they have denied or ignored and the consequences that will be permanent.

Believing in God and surrendering to Him as creator and savior brings joy, peace, love, kindness and all other things that the human heart longs for. Those who do not believe, will never experience those things in their fullness.

It costs you a lot more to not believe than to live a life in harmony with your creator. I pray that you will consider the possibility that God is real, loves His creation and will reward those who accept His Son Jesus as their Savior and Lord with eternal life preceded by a joyous life here on earth.

WE DID IT!!

At least conservatives made some progress. We now control the House. When all the newly elected representatives are sworn in, in January 2011, perhaps we can see some slow-down in the actions of this renegade government. All the news media are slamming the "tea-party" members who got elected. They do this to their own peril. The people have spoken and they just don't want the policies of Obama to continue. Why can't he see that? I don't think he has a clue. He still thinks he's the king of this country.

Now let's see the CHANGE the American people want, not the Socialist agenda that the President has been enacting.

Constitutional Republic

Would someone tell President Obama that The United States of America is not a democracy. It is a Constitutional Republic.

I heard a sound clip where some young Americans were heckling the president and when he finally got them quieted enough to speak briefly, he said "that's what's good about a democracy, everyone get's to express himself." All the while, he was trying to shut them down so they could not express themselves and let him speak.

If you haven't voted, tomorrow's the day. Go out and excercise your freedom to express yourself without being called down for it.

NOVEMBER 2nd ELECTION

It is so vitally important that we all get out and vote. Such a priviledge should never be taken for granted. It is a our right to express our choice for whom we desire to represent us in government.

The election process is long and we get about fed up with it before election day arrives, but let us remember that voting is not just a right and a priviledge, but also a duty. Our vote helps to choose who governs as our representative. If we don't vote, we have no right to complain about who gets into office or what they do which we do not agree with.

If you are a Christian, which I am, then it is our responsibility to vote for candidates who are pro-life, honest, who will represent the desires of the people of their district as well as others affected by their choices in a Godly manner.

During the campaign, many extreme left candidates try to make themselves look more conservative. Why is this? It is because they know that the majority of Americans are more conservative. They hope this "little trick" will help fool some people into voting for them. We need to be careful to not be fooled by them.

Even our current president is mending his ways to look more conservative, but this is temporary. Come November 3rd, he will be back to the some old agenda; shoving more stuff down our throats. If we have the proper balance in the house and senate, perhaps it will tie his hands enough to slow down the drift toward socialism.

Pray for the outcome that you want from this election, and by all means, VOTE!

EVIDENCE

I was reading my Geneva Bible,* as I do most early mornings, and I came to John Chapter one. It is about the “Word” and says in verse 4, that “it was life and the life was the light of men.” Verse 14 says “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we saw the glory thereof, as the glory of the only begotten Son of the Father) full of grace and truth." By this description of the Word, we can easily recognize that this speaks of Jesus.

The verse that really stood out to me was verse nine: “This was the true light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” John 1:9, Geneva.

When I read that verse, I remembered a night in 1975 when my wife and I were trying to understand a chapter in the New Testament. We both read it to each other aloud several times and we could not understand what it was saying. A week later, we went to a prayer meeting in someone’s home and both of us asked Jesus into our lives to be our Lord and Savior. When we arrived back home, we read the exact same scripture as before and we both understood it easily.

What was the difference? The only change was the coming of the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. It was as if we were blinded until we accepted Jesus and then our blinders were taken off. We were amazed. It is additional evidence of the existence of God and verification that Jesus is the true Messiah of God prophesied in the Old Testament.

*If you don’t know, the Geneva Bible was the bible used by the founders of what is now the United States of America. It was translated in 1599, twelve years before the King James Version (1611). At first reading, it reads much like the King James, but some words seem to convey more accurate meaning of the scriptures than other bibles.

Network News Agenda

I worked in gathering news many years ago and our objective as a local, independent station was to give the facts just as they were to the best of our abilities. Fast-forward to today and you see that most news sources have an agenda. That is, they are on one side of the political fence or the other, as in “liberal” or “conservative.”

Probably over seventy-five percent of news services in the U. S. are run by liberals and they slant the news, as far as they can get away with, in the liberal direction. One of the obvious ways they do this is to give extreme attention to stories that favor liberals and little or no coverage to those that favor conservatives. This happens in spite of the fact that the country’s majority is conservatives.

Case in point (and there are many), is the Honor America Rally held in Washington on 8/28/2010. The coverage of this event by secular media was almost none existent. What little exposure that did occur, was very negative and the number of attendees was minimize greatly. Why is this? It’s the liberal agenda. The desire to destroy your opponents with the media.

I watched the counter on my computer and at the beginning there were about 80,000 people watching by computer. It eventually peaked at 130,000, but that number was small compared to the number of real live people at the rally. I would estimate that well over 500,000 people saw this rally, either in person, or on the Internet. All that saw it know that the liberal media is trying to deceive those who didn’t see it. People who only get their news from the liberal side are in the dark as to what is really going on in this country.

Some of liberal talk show hosts stated that it was mostly whites, but the fact is there were American Indians, Blacks, Asians, Arabs and whoever else want to come, or in many cases were invited. Martin Luther King was honored greatly by all speakers, one of which was his niece. No one was excluded from coming to the rally. Of course, most liberals wouldn’t want to come because they heard it was to honor God.

I watched the entire three hours on the internet. There were people all the way from the Lincoln Memorial to the Washington Monument as thick as a crowd can get. They were almost entirely clean-cut, well-behaved American citizens. It was not a political rally. Only one politician’s name was uttered that I recall and that was a mention of John McCain by Sarah Palin. Governor Palin talked only about honoring our military.

Why did the liberal media ignore this very pro-America gathering? Just one reason, they don’t care about our heritage of Christian values. Most of them are not Christians (although there are some very devout Christians in media). Most liberals in the media are pro-abortion, with many leaning toward socialism. They do not believe in God, so they are lost in this world trying to do their own thing. They think this is all there is, so they try to get all they can while they can.

The people at the Honor America Rally were there to bring back honor for God and country. That was their main objective. It was very encouraging to see so many people who were willing to go to Washington at their own expense, a large number bringing their families, which include many young boys and girls.

The people were well behaved and left the place so clean and neat that you hardly knew anyone had been there. It wasn’t strewn with litter as it was at the last presidential inauguration. There were no arrests by the police.

The liberal new media is on the wane. Like newspapers, they are doomed to fail in the long run. Reporting of news is moving toward the Internet where it is more “back to the really true facts.”
Over the air broadcasting of radio and TV is licensed supposedly in the public interest. When the majority of the public isn’t being served the truth, it’s time to questions if these big news services should be allowed to express their propaganda over our media. Is their liberal agenda serving America fairly? I say NO.

Wake up America

If you voted for Barrack Obama for President of the United States, you can now see what you got. He promised change and he gave it to us, but not the change we expected. We got Saul Alinsky (socialistic) change. America has been played for a fool and many just ate it up. It seems that most just wanted the first black president. Race is no reason to vote for anyone. Qualification is more important than anything else. According to our Constitution Obama is not qualified to be president.

He doesn’t have the back-bone to divulge his true place of birth. He knows that if the truth was known it would disqualify him from the office of President. Why else would he go to such extremes to hide it? Anyone who was honest and sought to abide by the laws of this great land would have shown all his credentials without hesitation. We need to hold our elected representatives feet to the fire on this until the issue is resolved.

Now, in his fight to avoid offending illegals, Obama has implicated the state of Arizona as having human rights violations and he has sent it to the United Nations, which has no jurisdiction what-so-ever over this nation. The problem is; this action voluntarily puts us under the U.N. on this issues. He takes every opportunity that comes along to get outsiders involved in America’s business. It is obvious that he is bent on destroying this country. He is depending on the illegal votes of illegals to get him elected to a second term. God help us to avoid this.

The United States of America is a sovereign republic and our Constitution and laws govern what we do in it. The U.N. is too corrupt even to police itself, much less this nation. If it were the finest organization in the world that would not qualify it to exercise control over the U.S.

We need to push for impeachment of Barrack Obama before it is TOO LATE. We’re already in deep water because of his frivolous handling of this country’s money. He has squandered America's weath like a child in a candy store (only on an astronomical scale).

Call, write, fax or email your elected representatives and congressmen in Washington and let them know that you favor impeachment.

Mail from Fund Raisers

Our mail carrier told us on several occasions that we get more mail than anyone else on his route. We average about seventy-five to a hundred pieces a day. Most of the mail is from fund raisers, so I thought I would share a few of their techniques that are common to most of them.

First, most of them are from companies hired to write letters that will evoke a response from the receiver to make them want to give. They pick stories that will arouse your sympathy or empathy with whomever the story is about, and then they apply it with a broad brush to include many who are in need.

There are needs out there, so I don’t mean this to be a turn-off to helping all charities, many of whom are worthy of your help. I’m just fed up with the ones that use the same old tactics, just to get your contributions.

We receive large numbers of mailings with surveys to fill out that always end in a request for a donation and then many of them tell you how much you should give. They are written by professional fund-raisers and the questions are organized in a way to get “yes” answers out of you right up to the last one, “will you help us?, etc.”

I often fill out the long surveys, which takes a long time, and mail them back without a contribution. My thinking is, if they really want the survey, then they will have it. If they are only after the contribution and throw the survey away, then they are not succeeding with me. Some envelopes even have a place on the outside to check if you included a contribution or just the survey. This could be for sorting, but I believe it is to see which ones have contributions in them, because that is their main focus.

Some try tricks like writing something on the outside of the envelope that entices you to open it. “Check inside.” “Do not bend, photo inside.” “Important medical information.”

Others put coins, checks for small amounts, dollar bills or bags of seeds in them. They usually ask you to return what they sent. Some might be gifts to encourage you to give. These may include socks, baby clothing, small blankets, T-shirts, flags, pens, pencils, calculators, flashlights, calendars, pads, planners, address labels and on-and-on. I have about six calculators from the mail. All this is intended to get you to open the envelope.

Then there is the “matching challenge.” This one is used by all kinds of organizations, and it works to some degree. Anyone giving likes the idea that the effect of their contribution is doubled. It’s another gimmick that even I fall prey to for some causes I believe are worthy, but they could have my money with out the tricks.

I realize that they need money to operate, but I question if what they are doing is necessary. I believe in point-blank honesty, period. I know I can’t get this from most political groups, they are mostly self-serving, sad to say.

We get a lot of political fund-raising letters. If I give them anything, it is rare. If there is a candidate that I want to see elected, then I give. I don’t give to any political party, just individual campaigns. We get, not just one of these letters, but one to me, one identical to my wife, then another identical one to Mr. and Mrs. Then I get some with misspelled name and address. These I just toss. It’s a big waste of postage and of our time. Some groups send something almost every day. I can spot the duplicates and just toss them, but I have to remove important information from them.

Here is the dilemma: Every day when I get home from work, I find my wife deep into the daily mail. I jump in and help her finish it. I am seventy-four and she is seventy-one. Seventy-five to a hundred pieces of mail takes a lot of time to open and see what they’re each about. By the time we finish the mail and eat our evening meal, maybe watch the news, it is time to go to bed. Our free time has been devoured by the daily mail.

What to do?

I invested in a shredder, then I bought a bigger shredder, but neither is large enough to handle mail with coins, and I really don’t want to grind U.S. currency up anyway. I think it is illegal. My sister-in-law has an outdoor “incinerator” which she uses to dispose of the left over mail, but I don’t want to go that way. I hesitate to toss it in the trash with perhaps some information that could aid “identity theft.”

Something’s got to give here.

I bet that if we all wrote “return to sender” on them, some of them might get the idea.
I hate to write “deceased,” that would be dishonest.

Strange

Do you find it very strange that our "president" will not do anything the American people (US) want him to do?

He jammed the Health "reform" to socialized medicine down our throats with the majority of citizens yelling and screaming, "We don't want it!"

He refused to sign the National Day of Prayer proclamation for 2010. Why? He claims to be a Christian.

He refuses to show his birth certificate when it is required by the Constitution and he has spent large (very large) sums of money to get around it. This one, he will have to face eventually. Where are the officials that are responsible for letting this slide through the cracks and are still unwilling to face up to it?

He has spent us into oblivion and piled up debt that we won't be able to get out of in our lifetime.
This again, with the majority of citizens totally against it.

Now he has appointed an openly gay to be on the U. S. Supreme Court. Our law is founded upon the Bible and that same book declares the gay life style to be an abomination. I guess that's what this country has turned into: an obamanation.

We must stand up and be counted in our opposition to all this and reclaim this country "to the people by the people for the people."

I will be voting against candidates who do not imbrace sanctify of life and those who are for gays in the military and in government. We are far from the morality of our founding fathers.

END TIME CONFUSION

We just received a mailing from a Jewish Christian organization today and my wife was reading some of what they now believe concerning Christ coming in 2012. A little ways into the article, it talks about the writings of Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins, as if they really were writing the truth about what Jesus called the “END.” Their writings are mostly fiction, loosely based upon their understanding of what the Bible says. Most of it is way off.

Hearing about this stirred me up a bit since I have spent about thirty years trying to educate believers to the truth about the “END.” This Jewish Christian organization is growing by leaps and bounds and they are being fed the same old error that has been prevalent in most Christian churches since the 1830s.

What's the problem?

To begin with the prophecy foretelling the "end" was given by Jesus on the Mount of Olives and it was addressing the audience that was listening to Him and not us today. This is because it applied to that generation, not ours. Read Luke Chapter 21.

Jesus said when you shall see armies surrounding Jerusalem, know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Speaking of the Temple, He told his followers that not one stone would be left upon another that would not be cast down. He said “there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of man coming in His kingdom.”

Jesus predicted wars and rumors of wars, famine, earthquakes in diverse places, and then that the Gospel of the kingdom must first be preached into all the world for a witness, then the end would come. (All of these predictions came to pass in that generation.) Jesus had said: “This generation shall not pass away until all be fulfilled.”

That generation passed away long ago. If all was not fulfilled, Jesus would be a false prophet. We know that He is not, so all His predictions were fulfilled in that generation.

The prophecy of the Gospel being preached “into all the world for a witness” was fulfilled before the Bible was complete. There are at least six scriptures in the Bible that say it was done and a number of historians who stated the same. We are led by most preachers today to believe that it is yet to be accomplished before Jesus can return.

In the A. D. 70 period, the prophecy of Jesus was fulfilled by the armies of Roman under Titus surrounding the city of Jerusalem, followed by the building of a siege wall around the city so that no one could leave or enter and the siege of the city and Temple until the Temple was burned and so completely destroyed that it hasn’t been rebuilt to this day. The temple mount was ploughed by Terentius Rufus to fulfill the Old Testament prophecy that it would "be as a ploughed field." It is said that all Jewish tombstones were destroyed so that there was no evidence that a single Jew had ever lived there.

Over a million Jews died and those who were left alive were taken or sold as slaves to other nations. God dealt with them for their refusal to accept His messiah, Jesus, and instead, getting Him crucified.

Who knows more about the dealings of God than Jesus? Not Tim Lahaye or Hal Lindsay.

Easter - Resurrection

In my opinion, Easter is a celebration for children. Resurrection is a celebration for those who are Christians, young or old. Easter with its Easter bunny and Easter eggs really does little to celebrate what Jesus did for us on the cross and His subsequent resurrection on the third day. It's just a fun time for kids.

I enjoyed egg hunts and candy when I was a child, but there comes a time when you begin to question what's it all about. That's the time to begin to understand that the real story has to do with the resurrection of Jesus which brought salvation to as many as will accept Him as their Lord and saviour.

The word "Easter" came from the name of a pagan "goddess of spring", Ishtar, and has nothing to do with salvation. Children don't know this and hiding eggs, etc. is a harmless activity that children love, but don't let that be all this season is about.

Please don't suppose that your children will find out all about Jesus on their own, without your input. You may discover, when they're older and have been programmed by their friends, they don't want to listen to you and have gone their own way. The majority of them will not come back to the faith. The older they are before being introduced to Jesus, the more difficult it will be for them and for you.

Take the opportunity when they are young to share the truth about Jesus and teach them to love Him. This will be seeds well planted in their lives that will bear fruit as they grow up. The life you live before them will also be the greatest testimony when they see that you believe what you are telling them and are living accordingly.

Remember, without the resurrection of Jesus, there would be no hope for mankind beyond death. Jesus opened the way to eternal life through His sacrifice of Himself for all who will accept Him to be their savior.

We have all sinned and we must repent of our sins and invite Jesus to come into our hearts and save us. I promise you, you'll never regret it. He is the greatest free gift you could ever receive.

On Our Way to Socialism

Since the 1920s and perhaps longer, the Socialists (we used to call Communists) have been trying to get control over the U. S. Government. The Communists couldn't defeat us by might, so they decided to take us down without firing a shot. Many ways were tried and many failed, because we were aware of what they were up to. Sometimes it took a while to catch on, but we succeeded in twarting it. Many attempts have been made to get their foot in the door through health care, but again, we were able to hold it back.

Then we elected a president who was "hell-bent" on getting health care legislation passed and he surrounded himself with all sorts of people who had the same agenda and they deceived, coerced, bribed and otherwise persuaded enough of our elected officials to get it through. Their leaders said they "won." Who did they win over? Who was 73% against this new health care bill? U. S. (us). Our elected representatives beat us? So they won over our objections. They defeated the people they were elected to serve. The shoe is on the wrong foot. Is that government of the people, by the people and for the people? Is this a dictatorship?

From all appearances we are on our way to Socialism. I certainly hope not, but that's the way it looks. We are far along the path to becoming a "welfare state." Why do I care? Well for starters, I love this country and it's people. Secondly, my wife and I have four children and twenty grandchildren. We would like for them to have a shot at the "American dream," and the opportunity to live in a free nation, not on welfare; to be able to make their living in a free market system which has been the hallmark of the United States. A shining city on a hill that has become a lot less shiney.

We used to be the largest producer of merchandise in the world. Made in the USA meant something. Now we are being surpassed by China. The direction we are headed is financially unsustainable. Is there no one in the U. S. who knows how to get us back on track?

If the United States of America is to survive, we must put the brakes on this movement toward Socialism, where everyone feels entitled to get paid without working and we must get back to our Constitutional roots or we will become a third-world nation. Heaven forbid.

Socialism is totally against Christianity. The principals of our Constitution were largely founded upon the holy scriptures. They are the principals that work best to have a fair and decent society. Our forefathers knew this and diligently prayed that we would never depart from it, for they knew that it would lead to ruin.

We need a huge revival in this country to get us back on track. That would give us the back-bone to stand up against the evil that exist in this country.

Isn't it wonderful that our children and grandchildren are getting to pay for healthcare for this generation!! Aren't you just OVERJOYED!! YOUR NOT??? Why not?

Representatives elected by the people in this great country are taking over our lives. For the few little benefits that some Americans will get from all the rest of us (distribution of wealth, you know), we will all pay "through the nose."

November is coming, and I hope we don't just forget what they have done to our country. I for one will most certainly remember and VOTE accordingly. We need some elected officials with a little righteous fortitude. Seems that even the ones who say they are against a bill are really just going after a pay-off. Can't trust them at all.

Some have and changed their lifestyle and are reaping the benefits. My wife and I have been doing this since 1992 and we are very healthy in our seventies. Neither has seen a doctor for over five years, except our eye doctor to get glasses.

I have always had health insurance, but we don't use it very often. I resent the part in this new heathcare bill that requires those who don't want insurance to have to buy it anyway. It's like stealing money right our of our pockets. What else is new?

We need a large change in Washington in November, if you know what I mean.

I just turned on Fox News briefly and saw a link to vote on the effect of passing the health care bill, if you can call it a bill at this point. Anyway, there was a link on that site that went to Al Gore, blaming man for the snowfall this winter.

All (who have any cognitive function) are aware at this point that his whole claim of global warming causing climate change is phoney. Even the scientist have figured it out by now. I have never understood how anyone could accept such foolishness if they would just stop and think for themselves. Read through the article at the link above and you will see some natural reasons that kept me from ever believing it.

MOST IMPORTANT ! !

What is the most important thing you could possibly do today. The answer is very simple, but has it even crossed your mind?

I spent the weekend sorting out the issues that are bombarding us that we can't do anything about from the ones we have control over. I refuse to spend my time worrying about those that I cannot control. I can pray about them and then, hands-off, I leave them to God.

I could worry about these issues so much that the stress could give me a heart attack. I have experienced that three times in the past, and I refuse to go there again. My way of dealing with those issues is to ask God for his intervention and then turn them loose.

Sometimes this is very hard to do, but it is also very necessary. If I hold on to them, I interfere with what God wants to do to fix them. So for my sake and the sake of those involved, I MUST release them to His hands and His mercy (which is endless).

So my conclusion for the first question I have posed is, as I said, very simple, but it takes an action on your part to accomplish it. Here it is:

Submit your life and everything about you to the only One who can fix all your problems, Jesus Christ, with no fear. Salvation is free for the asking. I put it off way too long. I pray that you won't.

If you think it would be giving up something, just think of this, it will be the best decision you ever made and you will never regret it. Besides always having the presence of Jesus with you, the desires of the flesh will be under control. It's the greatest thing I ever did. It happened way back at the turn of 1965-66 and it changed me forever.

Besides all that, I have God's promise of ETERNAL LIFE! You can too.

Tell it Like it is!

I used to work for a man named Sidney who was the owner and manager of a large number of businesses. He was very direct and always wanted to cut to the chase. His favorite expression was "Tell it like it is." I appreciated the fact that he wanted the unembellished truth about everything without having to go through all the explanation of why someone did what they did.

He reminded me of another man named Pat that I worked for early in my career. He said that he hired each individual to do a job. He gave them the freedom to accomplish it however they thought best. If he didn't like the way that operated, he would replace them with someone else.

Pat always made instant decisions and always followed through with them. I sometimes disagreed with his decisions, but admired him for following through.

I wish we had leaders in this nation who would "tell it like it is." All the underhanded deception that goes on in Washington, DC is unacceptable. Wouldn't it be great if there was a way to get rid of the ones who are a disgrace to the country and replace them with responsible people who realize that the people should have the final say on whatever goes on here?

There is a way. It is provided for in our founding documents. That is to vote them out of office and replace them with others that we believe will do a better job. We should all be fed up with all that this administration has handed us in a little over one year of its existence, all in the name of change. Of course, some of the individuals who are in this administration were in Washington long before President Obama rose to the Oval Office.

Socialism has been slowly building in the nation to the point that it has well infiltrated our government. The socialists haven't been in much of a hurry up until now, but all of a sudden things are accelerating and we can hardly believe what we are seeing.

We have been lulled to sleep and the fight has nearly gone out of us. It's to the point that it really has to make us mad before we will act. That's not how it was in the years of the founding of this country. Our liberties are being taken away a little at a time and we just let it happen.

The government wants to tell us what we can and can't do. Free enterprise is greatly in jeopardy as the stranglehold of big government reaches out its tentacles into everyone's business.

States rights have diminished to the degree that Washington dictates almost everything. Washington gives out money to states, and states often give concessions in exchange. Decisions that are states rights have been handed over to big government.

Now that this president has spent us into oblivion, it's hard to see how we can recover, and all this happened in just over a year. Imagine the damage that can be done in three more years. It's mind-boggling.

God help us to learn from our mistakes and regroup and turn back to our roots so that we do not go completely down the drain.

Health Care on the Horizon?

It looks like our president is about to jam the ObamaCare Health bill through whether we citizens like it or not. Doesn't this man understand that the vast majority of Americans don't want it? What does he not understand about the word "NO?"

If he does this, I will do everything in my power to see that he gets defeated should he run for office a second time. This is supposed to be a country "of the people, for the people and by the people." We don't want socialism, Communism, or any other "ism," we want only America as our forefathers who wrote the Constitution intended it. It has worked all these years and has lasted longer than any other government on earth. Why do we want to take it down.

If it does come down, where do we go from there? Dictatorship. I say we have a dictatorship now, when the people make their voices heard and our "president," who will not even produce his real birth certificate to prove that he is legally president, insists on CHANGING our healthcare system just because that's what he wants. That's what he learned from Saul Alinsky; how to destroy America and bring in socialism. Electing Obama was a huge mistake. We didn't know what we were getting. He looks good and talks good on the surface, but is totally following the teaching of Alinsky.

Anyone who comes along who would be a good leader according to the U. S. Constitution is ridiculed and demeaned by the liberals. That's their way of dealing with everything.

Are you sick of being ignored? I certainly am! Come on people, wake up before it's too late. We can't just sit around until he get's us locked into something we can't get out of short of civil war.

The Bible says to pray for those who are in power over us, but it doesn't say pray to them. I pray that all those who are socialist leaning and want us all to go that way, will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. It may be our only way out of this mess.

I know God is always in control, putting leaders in and taking them out, but we sometimes don't know what He is doing. It may be that this is a wake up call for us. Let's not sit idle by while the "pied piper" cleans our plow. Pray that this present effort will again be defeated, and call your representatives in your state.

Global Warming???

I'm sorry folks, but this IS NOT Global Warming. I don't care what scientists say, when the temperatures are this cold, this long, that's not caused by warming. It doesn't take much sense to realize that.

I heard on the news last evening that all the cold fronts and snow was really being caused by global warming, causing water vapor to be trapped (somewhere) and making more snow than usual. Hogwash!! Whoever put that "spin" on it thinks we're purely stupid.

I wrote considerably on the so called global warming in several earlier bloggings which are in the archives on this page if anyone would care to read them. They include some of my observations as well as some scientific information that is quite interesting.

Almost everyone is now aware that the carbon emissions and greenhouse effect are not the problem, in fact, there is not a problem here. Weather simply goes through cycles and we're experiencing those cycles. They're perfectly normal within the tolerances that keep nature in balance.

I'm almost 74 and I have seen a lot of weather extremes. I have lived in Chicago, Kansas, the deep south and the Atlantic coastal regions. Variations in weather are daily, monthly, yearly and on-and-on. Like snow flakes, there are no two years exactly alike. Surprise! There are no two anythings precisely alike, there are always diffences, albiet small in everything.

We can't do the job of God. He can keep this planet going without our help or in this case, interference. He will melt the snow and let the water run off into the streams to the oceans. We can't even clean it all up by ourselves. If we think we can do anything as well as God, we are just fooling ourselves.

If we ceased to emit carbon into the air, just an occasional forest fire, or a volcanic erruption will still supply enough to keep vegetation growing. Oh, by-the-way, I guess you knew that plants can't survive without carbon dioxide (and plenty of it). Just like we can't survive without plenty of oxygen. So plants give off oxygen and people and animals give off carbon dioxide. It all works together to keep things alive. All that talk about carbon emissions is foolishness.

Would somebody out there give Al Gore a real job that would keep him busy so he will not continue to propagandize our kids in school with his phoney bolony?

When we see those around us who are not Christian believers, going in all kinds of directions trying to satisfy the hunger for "who knows what," to fill the void that is within them, we often fall into judgment of them. We forget that we were once in that same place.

I remember the night (when I was 39) that Daivid Gross spoke the words, "you must be born again." I had heard that before, but it never registered on me as to what it meant. I guess it wasn't my time yet to understand it. But as he explained it, I sat back in a corner and under my breath, prayed a prayer to surrender my life to Jesus Christ.

I didn't feel anything happen at that moment, but the next day when I was driving to work, I had a totally different set of desires. All I wanted to do was to get to know God (through Jesus) better. I carried my Bible with me all the time and read it every moment that I could find to do so.

Before this experience, I used to be interested in staying busy with almost anything, good or bad, to fill up the emptiness inside. Now I was calm and collected and at peace for the first time in my life. It was as if a blindfold had been taken away and I could see what had been hidden from me.

I kept running into people who used to never want to talk to me and they would say, "there's something different about you." That was an opportunity for me to tell them what had happened in my life. The result was often life changing for them as well.

We who are Christians sometimes find ourselves judging others because of their "unregenerated" actions, let us remember where we used to be, when we didn't have a clue ourselves. Let us instead, pray for God to bring the right person into their lives to introduce them to the only one who can change them and give them eternal life, Jesus Christ. We might find that the right person is us.

Being born again, and filled with God's holy spirit is such a miracle, and yet we can get so used to it that we forget where we came from. God gives us plenty of time to repent and turn to Him for forgiveness and a new direction. We should be the same way to others around us. You can't give someone salvation, each person must desire it with all his heart. Just saying some words doesn't do it, unless they truly mean it from the heart.

There is so much unbelievable stuff going on in Washington these days that it is frustrating just trying to comment on it. Seems we are really getting taken to the cleaners and no one knows what to do about it, or is unwilling to do anything about it.

Raising the National debt limit is one of the craziest things I have ever heard of. The previous limit was the only thing keeping us from self destruction (monetarily speaking). This President and the Congress are pushing hard to ruin our economy forever.

It doesn't take much to "spook" the stock market into a decline, and there goes more of our 401k dollars. Then we are hearing from all sides to get your money out of dollars, because they are declining in value.

I have always lived in America and believed in America, but it's getting harder to do every day.
I hope we can have a "change of guard" next election to get rid of those who are trying to change America into a socialist country.

I'm not so concerned about myself, but my children and grandchildren are being put into tremendous jeopardy by all this. Our founders would not have tolerated what we are putting up with now. They fought hard and laid their lives on the line for the liberties that are daily being stolen away from us. Let us stand strong against this "change" for the sake of socialism that will surely bring us down if we let it.

Haiti

On January 13, 2010, on the 700 Club, Pat Robertson, in discussing the earthquake in Haiti, spoke about what has long been considered "historical fact." He talked about the people of Haiti making a pact with the devil to help them defeat the French.

I have to say that, when I heard of the earthquake I began thinking of all the calamity that has come to Haiti in my lifetime, and of course, never having been there myself, but hearing second-hand stories of "voodo" being practiced there, I wondered if the protection of God was not on those people.

Several Network News broadcaster reported on Pat's statement in a very negative way. I saw it myself and felt that his timing was bad to talk about it under the present circumstances, but respect his free speech rights to say it. The networks are always trying to find something bad to report about anyone who is an influential Christian.

But to the matter itself, I have done some reading on the Internet and found that, according to the sites I visited, Haiti is now largely Christian. I do not believe that God brings punishment upon nations (since Jesus brought redemption) as He did in the Old Testament days, but instead, holds each individual responsible for his response to the Gospel and acceptance of Jesus. I believe punishment or reward is given at the death of each individual.

I also found a site that says the "pact" story is unfounded. I don't know about that for sure, but I think the best response we can make is to pray for the salvation of the Hiatian people and to give aid through contributions wherever we can to help the suffering.

Immediately after Pat gave what he believes is historical information about the pact, he said we should help them and pray for revival there. He also said that "Operation Blessing" which is run by CBN has a shipload of medical supplies there waiting to be used to help the people. This part was not covered by the Networks. That's not accurate reporting. I read the negative comments that this stirred up against Pat Robertson, but the reporting was incomplete and not fair. They should have repeated what he said in its entirety.

Natural calamity has come to many nations and it is hard to understand why it happens, but in the Bible it says: The sun shines and rain falls on the wicked and the just. It is a natural thing for calamities such as this to happen. God in his infinite wisdom knows how to handle it. Since we do not fully understand it, don't blame God for it.

I am sore distressed about the "climate" conference. Just yesterday, all the liberal press outlets were giving reports of some "scientists" who were spouting off all sorts of stuff about carbon and greenhouse gases, and showing smoke-stacks of some factories somewhere in the world.

Don't be fooled, this is all orchestrated to give President Obama the backing he needs to sign a treaty that gives environmental rule over the United States to a world organization, as if we can't regulate ourselves.

These people who are posing as scientists (may or may not be) are doing what the government wants in order to get funding for their continued "research."

There are hundreds of real scientists who disagree with the "global-warming" climate freaks. Why will our government not even consider their opinions?

One would think that climate changes were something new, but the climate has always varied and always will.

If we could stop all carbon emissions, even to stopping all humans and animals from breathing, it wouldn't affect the global climate noticeably.

Carbon dioxide is absolutely necessary for plant life to flourish on this earth. If we could decrease it appreciably, plants life would be diminished. We need plants to supply oxygen for humans to breath. Come on people, exercise the brain.

We're being dupped by a bunch of ignorant people, the likes of Al Gore (who is not a scientist), into believing whatever they say. It's just another way to swing us into socialism, using the climate as an excuse.

Because I am old and experienced in the normal GOD-made climate variations, I am qualified to object to all this foolishness. I have been writing about "global-warming" for years now, just look back at some of my archived blogs and you'll see.

In years to come, this whole idea will be debunked and dispensed with, but it will be too late for our wonderful country, because the damage will already have been done.

Perhaps I will not be here to see it, but I hate it because it will adversely affect my children and grandchildren and on-and-on.

How is it that our senators can't understand the word NO?

We the people don't want socialized medicine in the USA.

It looks like they're going to jam it through no matter what the people want. Don't they understand that we will vote them out the next time they come up for election.

Sensible people are still the majority in this country, all we have to do is get out and vote in EVERY election. Vote for conservative values no matter if you're a Democrat, Republican or Independent.

ObamaCare will bring with it a maze of delays, higher costs, poor care, and in short, suffering and hard-ship for all the people.

If you're in favor of Socialized medicine so you don't have to pay for it, you need to wake up. You will pay dearly if and when it becomes law. Our freedoms are being stolen away right under our eyes, and we sit around and let it happen.

God help us to do all in our power to stop it.

Be Thankful

This is a time to be thankful to our creator, God Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and His Son, our savior, Jesus Christ.

What should we be thankful for?
For starters, be thankful that you woke up today, that you were able to get your breath all night and God sustained you.
Be thankful for a place to live and a job, things which a large number of people do not have at this time.
Be thankful that Jesus gave His life two thousand years ago that opened the way for eternal life for all who would believe on Him and trust their lives to Him. He is the only way to salvation, there is NO other.
Be thankful for family, children, spouse, mother, father, brothers, sisters, grandparents if you still have them and be thankful for them if they are already gone, otherwise, there’d be no YOU. Above all things give honor to God in all you do this day and for all of your life. That’s how you can live a happy, fulfilling life, no matter what happens.

Global Warming

Update: There are so many scientists around the world who have observed all the climate information available to them and have concluded that Global Warming does not exist and that CO2 is not a problem. In early times on this planet, CO2 was much higher than it is today. Plants must have it to exist, and . . . we must have plants to exist.

If I were Al Gore, I would go around looking shame-faced for all the angst and expense he has cost the world by trying to champion a cause that was unreal. He is not a scientist, and judging by what he has bought into, I believe he is self-serving and dishonest or at least, terribly deceived.

It's such a travesty that the idea of Global Warming (now called climate change) has gotten so blown out of proportions. Now there is a very present danger which we face:

In December, President Obama is scheduled to go to a global meeting on climate change.

Let us speak out in time to get a message to the president to NOT sign the global agreement. It will cost us dearly and will put our country under control of a GLOBAL GOVERNMENT. This global government, once it has a hold on us, can do us much harm, even to losing our sovereignty.

Concerning or climate:

Are you aware that 90% of greenhouse gases are water vapor, primarily evaporating from the worlds nearly 75% water-covered areas. The small amount that mankind contributes to the temperature of the earth is very minute in comparison. To think that we can do the job of God and fix it is preposterous. Of course we can reduce emissions that polute the atmosphere, and that will give us cleaner air, but that has almost nothing to do with global temperatures.

Now that the Democrat Party is in control of our U.S. Government, it remains unknown what decisions they might make on so called climate change. Common sense would solve the issue for good. If we merely look at a few years of our recorded weather history, we can see that we are going through cycles that are sometimes hotter and sometimes colder than some of the previous years. These variations are perfectly normal. If you don't like the weather today, wait a few days and it will change. It always has and it always will.

I was born and grew up in North Alabama. In 1925, eleven years before I was born, North Alabama recorded its hottest temperature on record of 112 degrees. The winter of 1936 was very cold there, breaking all known records. A very hot summer followed in the south.

The highest temperature recorded in northern Arkansas was 114 degrees. It hasn't been that hot since.

We had two blizzards in the last 20 years in the Tennessee area that I am personally acquainted with, dumping large amounts of snow, in some areas we had over five feet. Could we call that Global cooling???

When I was in high school in the 1950s, scientists were warning that the earth was cooling off and in a few million years it would be frozen over. What did we do to switch it to warming? Maybe we could just reset the thermostat, but again, someone else would just come back and set it where they thought it should be.

Let me say this. I believe in recycling, conserving, reducing polution and otherwise being good stewards of God's earth, but we're just going to have to leave the climate up to Him. He's the only one big enough to handle the job.

If you want to see how helpless we are to control the weather on the earth, try watering your part of the earth to keep the water table up and you'll find that it's an impossible task, but God can do it and keep it done.

The rainfall over the earth is about the same every year. It is just distributed differently each year. We can't refreeze the polar regions! What an insane thought. Climate changes are natural and part of the balance of nature. Give it a few years and it will self-regulate. If we try to change it, we just might make it worse.

This is all my opinion, everybody has one.

Socialized Medicine

Update: It is obvious that this government is going to jam their so called health care agenda down our throats even though the majority of Americans are very much against it.

I feel betrayed by our congressmen in the passage of the house version of Obama health care. And now, the Senate is going down the primrose path to the same nonsence. They did it on the weekend, just like the House and pushed it through without the consent of most Americans.

Socialized (government controlled) medicine will be the biggest boondoggle we have ever gotten into, and about impossible to back out of. What are these people thinking? Or are they thinking at all?

I am appalled at all the other stuff that is included in that bill. The so-called "public option" which gives the government far too much control. Robbing the Social Security revenue to achieve their selfish ends. The misappropriation of funds should land them all in jail. And it just goes on and on.
The whole health system in this country isn't broke, so why are they trying to scrap it for a system that they know (from the experiences of other nations) won't work.
In my opinion, they're acting like fools.

All they want is to keep their positions in congress, yet this will hopefully be their down-fall. I always think that we will vote them out of office the next time they are up for re-election, but often times, I am wrong. I wish we could just totally clean house (no pun intended) and start over with a new bunch. We might have some chance for improvement if that did occur.

If you have a voice, try to persuade your Senators to not follow the socialist path of the congress. We will be very sorry if socialized medicine becomes a reality in this country.

Much to Think About

I will soon be performing the marriage ceremony of my grandson to his bride to be. This has given me much to think about.

Marriage

First, what is the purpose of marriage?
It is many-faceted, but primarily, the purpose is procreation of the human race. God made them man and woman and said the two shall become one.

The Bible

Genesis 2:24: "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and they shall be come one flesh."

Procreation

Genesis 3:20: "And Adam called his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all living."

Isn’t it awesome that Almighty God gave man such a significant role in keeping earth populated with people? Of course it takes a man and a woman to accomplish this. Both the children of those who follow God and those who don’t can still be given the opportunity to be saved. Statistics show that those who are exposed to Christianity early in life are much more likely to accept Jesus as their savior. Don’t waste valuable time. Don’t think they can decide to believe or not to believe when they are older. The majority of those will not believe. You are then leaving your children in a very dire circumstance, possibly not ever having eternal salvation.

Divorce

Matthew 19:3 The Pharisees also came to Him (Jesus), testing Him, and saying to Him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?"
Matthew 19:4: And He (Jesus) answered and said to them, "Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’

Why did Moses allow Divorce?

7 They said to him, "Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?
8 He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning, it was not so."

Selfishness

Divorce was never intended to exist, but selfish people want their own way and are not willing to lay down their own desires for another, even their spouse. This is the root cause of all broken relationships among people, especially between husbands and wifes.

UPDATE: The marriage ceremony went well and our new couple is flourishing. Unfortunately, our grandson is now stationed in Iraq. We pray for his safety everyday (as well as our other troops in harms way). We will be happy when all our troops are back on American soil.

I love the spring time. We have a lot of flowers in our yard and some are absolutely gorgeous, such as this lily . Look at the perfection in its design; awesome. The wonder of the creations of God are breathtaking.

The picture with all green leafs is pretty to look at, but not delightful to hold. It is poison Ivy, growing in the woods behind our place. Just thought I'd be a little different and deviate from my normal blogs. After all, it's Memorial Day weekend. Hope you have a great and safe one.

Have we Lost our Minds?

I have a hard time believing what I am hearing on TV news these days. The president wants to close the Guantanamo Bay prison camp to, supposedly, save money and at the same time, give the prisoners there a "fair" trial.

He and most of his supporters are against interrogation techniques approved by the Bush administration to get information out of terrorists even though the information they got may have saved thousands of lives. We should be kind to terrorists, they are kind to our soldiers and reporters. They just cut off their heads. That's less painful than waterboarding.

At the same time, the president has made it very plain that he is in favor of and will EAGERLY sign a bill to take all restrictions off of abortion.
Protect the terrorists.
Kill the babies.
Sounds insane to me!

Then, there is the young boy who has some form of cancer and his mother, in an effort to protect him from being destroyed by chemotherapy, has fled with him to seek alternative help to make her son well. Chemo has a consistent record of terminating people through it's poisoning of their bodies. Granted, it has been improved, but in my opinion, it is still dangerous and I would not take it myself. My dad had cancer, and the oncologist he went to told him that chemo would do him "no good" and would only cause the remainder of his life to be miserable, instead of relatively comfortable without chemo. He said, you are going to die either way. My dad chose to not have the chemo. His body was full of cancer, and he died within a couple of years, but fairly pain free.

There now exist, in Mexico, hospitals that use natural means to cure cancer. They have a very good track record of thousands cured, yet the government of the United States will not allow them to function in this country, so people have to flee from their own country to get proper nutritional help in conquering cancer.

Meantime, we are burning and poisoning our people who get cancer just to make the big bucks. Whose business is it to decide what treatment your child should have to get him well? Is it the government's business. I say NOT! Is it the medical establishments? I say NO! As long as the parents are acting in the child's best interest, let them see what can be done instead of sentencing their child to death by Chemo.

I don't know what religion these people are, that is not the issue here although the TV news always mentions that they are affiliated with a "religious" group. The life of their son IS the issue. A large number of wealthy people in this country go to Mexico, or to Europe to get rid of cancer. Michael Landon was seeking help from the alternative community when he was dying from cancer. His doctors reportedly told him to stay away from "those quacks, they'll kill you." I guess his doctors were wrong. He died a short time later, under their "care."

Our founding father's, in the Declaration of Independence, wrote: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that ALL men are created equal, that they are ENDOWED by THEIR CREATOR with certain unalienable rights, that among these are LIFE, LIBERTY and the pursuit of happiness."

The above two stories have a common thread. Babies have a right to be born, that's called "LIFE." Families have a right to make decisions concerning their children, among other things, that is called "LIBERTY." The parents of the young boy with cancer are being denied theirs. In my opinion, this is tyranny.

Free Speech

With hate crime legislation on the front burner and the president pushing congress to have it ready for him to sign by Memorial Day, we need to exercise our free speech and speak out to our elected representatives how we feel that such a law would impact our lives and the lives of all Americans.

We may not always say things that are pleasing to the ears of everyone, but we do have the right of free speech granted by our Constitution. We must not be quick to give up this right. If we lose this "right," it won't be long before they are taking away others, and eventually, our Constitution will be a worthless piece of paper. Our forefathers fought and died to give us the liberties that we enjoy. Can we stand idly by and let it all slip away?

It seems that the only people who are attacked for speaking out are Christians, the very people who are instructed by their savior to "go and preach the Gospel to all nations." Our president of "change" is against Christianity. He doesn't recognize our National Day of Prayer, but recognizes Muslim's rights to pray.

If, in fact, the so call "Hate-Crimes" bill passes, it will have more far reaching consequences than anyone imagines and will back-fire to the shutting-down of the free speech of those who hate Christians.

Why don't we grow-up and act like adults instead of little children who cry and moan about everything. Laws already exist that allow for the prosecution of those who try to take out their own vengeance upon others. We don't need "Hate Crimes Legislation," nor any other legislation that is aimed at just one group of people, especially Christians who are just trying to help others to have a happy life and eternal life in addition.

MORE ABOUT EGGS

Do you realize that birds are not the only animals that lay eggs to propagate? There are many others; reptiles, such as lizards, crocodiles, turtles, and insects, fish, etc. Each one has its own story as to how it all happens. The only mammal that lays eggs is the platypus.

Referring to my previous blog as background for this one, the same problems of the development stages required by the evolutionary process are again extremely troubling to the evolutionist. But here is something that most of us never think about.

Dd you know that you and I also came from an egg? The process of human reproduction is extremely complicated, so much that it is mind-boggling. It screams out “design” all over. There are so many facets to the process that any thinking person would have to concede that a very great intelligence had to be behind it all. Nature has no intelligence.

Just take a look at this. In a human mother, at ovulation, an egg enters the uterine tube. Sperm enters the uterus through intercourse and goes into the uterine tube through its own rhythmic propulsions. How does it know to do this? The acid environment kills most of the sperm, but when one gets through it binds to the egg utilizing the complimentary surface proteins. Where did they come from? Binding triggers acrosome reaction in the sperm and its enzymes digest the egg membrane. Who told the enzymes to do that?

The sperm then goes into the cytoplasm of the egg and the egg is fertilized. It releases enzymes that harden the egg’s membrane and deactivates the sperm binding which prevents other sperm from fusing. Mitotic cell division occurs without cell growth (called cleavage). The fertilized egg becomes a blastocyst, embedding in the enometrium. The outer layer called trophoblast forms the fetal part of the placenta as the inner cell mass becomes a human embro.

Now catch this amazing fact; the fetal blood and the maternal blood flow through the placenta without mixing. Nutrients, hormones, gases and wastes travel through the placenta crossing in the proper directions, to nourish the forming baby, yet get rid of unwanted wastes. If evolution is in place here, how did these processes learn to do this and how many million years did it take? How were humans reproduced as this process was developing? You can’t answer these questions.

The placenta is actually composed of fetal and maternal tissues, where blood vessels enter and leave the placenta through the umbilical cord. The amniotic fluid buffers to protect the forming baby from outside disturbances.

Why are evolutionary scientists so blind to these issues? Just “Google” a web site on human reproduction and marvel at all that scientists have learned about it. Yet, they still maintain that it all happened by “natural selection,” or “chance.” In my estimation, natural selection is just another way of saying that God created it all, without actually acknowledging Him. There is no “mother nature.” That’s a misnomer if there ever was one. Neither is there a “mother earth.” However, there is a “Father God,” and it is so obvious that He designed it all.

Only one problem remains here, if the evolutionists ever acknowledge God, they will have to serve Him, and thereby hangs their dilemma.

Eggsalence!

If you think that this egg just evolved to its present state, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you. Just look at how perfectly it is designed. It comes from a bird. Without being complete, as it is shown here, and without it being fertilized by a male, it can never produce another bird. If the egg evolved over millions of years, how did birds get born while the egg was evolving? Where did the male come from that fertilized it. Where are the transitional forms? How did this egg know how to form? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? If the egg came first, what sat on it until it hatched? It's obvious, the chicken came first, and the egg came out of the chicken intact, and of course the rooster had to exist to fertilize the egg. You know, it's starting to look almost like it was designed by some awesome intelligence. Think about it!!

NEWSPAPERS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS

I was just reading about several large and very old newspapers folding under with the current financial situation. They have been coming up short for a number of years, but managed to survive until now.

I remember as a young man about twelve years old, delivering the Birmingham Post and the Birmingham News. In those days, the newspaper was as important as the internet is today.
It's sad to see such a great institution going down the tube, but you can blame it on the kind of "news" many of them reported. They were biased, and with many stories omitted because of the liberal slant. Also, the changing technology has a lot to do with it.

I remember hanging around the "Boaz Leader" newspaper as a child, totally engrossed in watching the Linotype operator as he set the type for each addition. I got really interest in newspaper publishing and actually printed my own papers on a small press, complete with hand-drawn cartoons and advertising. It wasn't a lucrative business, and I wasn't a good business manager, so it was short-lived, but my interest in the printed media still lingers today. I am now seventy-three and still writing. I have written two books and have a lot of stuff on the internet.
It was all inspired by Mr. Leroy Sumners at the Boaz Leader.

Mr. Sumners and that newspaper are long gone, as many small town papers are, however, there are some small town papers that are doing quite well, and that I love to see. Community oriented and unbiased reporting is still the secret to success.

There's a lot to be said for the modern way of printing and distributing information. The internet allows anyone to have his views aired. Sometimes they are things that shouldn't be aired, but free speech is important.

Who knows what is coming next. There are always new innovations, many that displace something that was used earlier. Take the typewriter. I wrote my first book using two electric typewriters, but I learned to type on a manual one. They're all obsolete now. I started using a computer in the late 1980s and it also quickly became obsolete. We have to upgrade to better ones frequently.

CDs and DVDs came along and they have now proven to deteriorate over five years (those you burn yourself, not those that are pressed, as in rented or purchased movies). I mention this so that others will perhaps not experience what I did. I put my old film movies from the 1950-1980 on DVD and thought I could store them forever. I recently discovered that some of them wouldn't play. I was able to process them to get the data off into my computer and then burn new copies on improved DVDs. The improved ones are guaranteed to last thirty years. That's an improvement, but I'll only be 103 and I'll have to retrive the data again.

Oh well, can't win 'em all!

ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS (GLOBAL WARMING?)

I have read a number of recent articles about over 600 scientists that do not believe in the global warming scare that Al Gore divised. But warnings about weather change have been around a long time.

Scientists have warned that the sun is diminishing and will some day die or go into a “nova” millions of years in our future. It’s not something we should really be concerned about, we can't prevent it. I say that God, who put the sun there to begin with and made it out of nothing, can replenish it. He has plenty of “nothing” out there to work with.

If there are really observable changes in the sun, they are probably cycles like those that occur throughout the earth and the universe over long periods of time, too great for man’s observation. Such variations were built-in to the design of the universe to keep everything in balance, warming for a period of time, then, cooling again. There are all kinds of variations that occur naturally. Some cycles are over long periods of years, decades, centuries or millennia, making accurate analysis almost impossible or at least, extremely difficult for mankind.

They say the earth’s orbit has shifted somewhat. That too can be a cycle that the earth goes through that brings corrections to the balance of the solar system. These kinds of variations are similar to so called “global warming.” They require many years of observation, much longer than the lifetime of one individual, to understand the natural warming and cooling, or minor shifts that correct themselves over time. Computer modeling doesn't cut it because of all the unending variations that are built in.

Why don’t we leave the BIG stuff up to God, the only one who can really handle it?

Talk Radio & TV

There has been a movement in our nation toward silencing the voices of talk radio and television hosts. This movement came largely from the liberal side of politics. The reason that they wanted to bring back the so-called “fairness doctrine,” is because they are running scared that talk radio might be their Achilles-heel in the 2008 presidential election. The Liberals already have the advantage of big money, often from questionable funding sources, and they have the broadcast and newspaper media, almost all the major TV networks, plus Public Radio [NPR] and Public TV on their side. This is in spite of the fact that Public Broadcasting is largely supported by money from the government (us), and public contributions (us) from both liberals and conservatives. It should maintain an unbiased political view in reporting the news.

On the conservative reporting side, there is FOX News and conservative talk shows like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and a few others. So the majority of the media is of liberal persuasion and does whatever is expedient to put forth that viewpoint, but that isn’t enough for the liberals, they want to squash the voice of anyone they consider opposition.

IS THAT THE WAY IT SHOULD BE IN AMERICA?

The reason that talk radio is such a threat to liberals is that conservative talk shows generate much larger audiences than liberal ones. Many liberal talk shows have gone under for lack of enough audience to get the sponsorship they need to pay the bills. Even if they fund it from the “big money” sources, they still can’t get the audience. So out of frustration, they try to say it is “unfair.”

Is it unfair if people in this country with a free will to make the choice of what they listen to or watch, decide to tune into a conservative talk show? I think it is good to have both liberal and conservative talk shows. I say, if the liberal side can hold an audience, that’s great. Let the market place decide. That’s the way it’s done in America.

The so-called “fairness doctrine,” with its “equal time” provision could require that whatever is broadcast, expressing political or religious views, be open for opposing views to be aired. People who have chosen to broadcast Christian programming on their stations would have to also broadcast opposing views of all kinds of other religions. It is my understanding that they would have to do this without remuneration. If that is true, that would throw away 50% of their revenues and make it impractical or impossible to keep the stations on the air.

History:

The “fairness doctrine” began in 1949 because of anti-communist sentiment and was abolished by the Federal Communications Commission in 1987. It was a literal pain for broadcasters. I know, because I was there on the broadcast end.

We don’t need the “fairness doctrine.” It is a misnomer; it is NOT FAIR at all. It would just be another tool of the liberals to try to take over the country with socialized medicine, tax hikes all across the spectrum and abortions funded by everyone’s taxes through Planned Parenthood. They received over 300 million tax dollars in 2006.

My Opinion:

I believe that IF the so called “fairness doctrine” is ever reinstituted it will backfire on the ones who push it through. As surely as it can be applied to Talk & Christian radio, it can be applied to politics. This means that when the liberals buy broadcast time, or receive time on a broadcast media, the conservatives can demand equal time. Thankfully, the reviving of this old doctrine did not get enough support in the 110th session of Congress to introduce it.

For the sake of broadcasters and for the freedom of speech we enjoy in this country, I hope the so-called “fairness doctrine” is never reinstituted.

Abortion:

Abortion has reduced our population tremendously through the killing of unborn babies. These were millions of “would be” Americans that never got a chance at life. Talk about mass killings! We just let it keep happening and spend our time prosecuting people involved in “dog fighting” and protecting “endangered species.” I'm not for dog fighting, nor against protecting endangered species, but we are going to be endangered if the killing of the unborn doesn’t stop. We should fight abortion with every fiber in us.

What makes me really mad is that the majority of abortions are of black babies and yet most of the black community continues to vote for the pro-choice (pro-Abortion) candidates. Why is this?The population reduction through abortion has been offset by the influx of illegal immigrants into our country. Soon we will be out numbered if both (abortion and illegal immigration) are not stopped and we will be at the mercy of illegals. There are no telling how many illegals that voted in the 2008 election, possibly affecting the outcome. I am no against immigrants, otherwise most of us wouldn't be in this country. My German ancestors came here in 1737 and they did it legally. I want the best life for all mankind, but do it legally. It is also very important that immigrants learn to speak English, our common language.
