What America needs NOW!

Do you believe that God still deals in the affairs of men? Our founding fathers of the United States certainly did, and they put together a constitution, with providential help, through much prayer and fasting, that has kept this Republic together longer that any other on earth.

Yet, there can come an end to any good thing when it is taken for granted and those things that brought it about in the first place are ignored; when people are so spoiled by affluence that all they want is their own pleasures rather than to yield to the rule of the God who created everything. We forget the “golden rule,” and “love your neighbor as yourself,” and go our way, not thinking of God very much and rarely praying except when we have a crisis.

We work to get the kind of government we want and keep all the benefits coming, expecting everything to go on just like it is. When there’s a bump in the road, we get all concerned. So what can fix all of this?

Have you ever considered that some of the things we have to go through that are unpleasant are from God? Why would He do that to us? Could it be to correct us and the direction our country and the people are going? Or is it that God has taken His hand of protection off us because of the extreme wickedness and perversion that we have come to accept as “normal” in this nation?

If a poll is taken, we see that a high percentage of our population claims to be Christian. I do not want to point to anyone and say he is not a Christian, but the Bible says: “You shall know them by their fruit.” Some of the things we do, or accept in others is appalling.

We can get so busy with pursuit of pleasure that we fail to do the little things for our children and family. I have nothing against sports, but we have to be careful that we don’t get lost in them so much that they become our primary focus. Keeping God as the focal point of our lives and following His precepts, as found in His word, the Bible, is what God requires of us.

Could the hard times many are going through due to the lack of available jobs, the foreclosures on homes, attacks on Americans both here and abroad, and other calamities possibly be because we have largely ignored the God who established this nation.

Our Supreme Court declared it legal to abort unborn babies; but the Bible says taking the life of another is murder. By many, abortion has been accepted as a way of life, aborting their babies for their own convenience. There are extreme consequences for doing this. Ask anyone who has had an abortion and most will tell you there is emptiness in their hearts that will never be filled. God can bring comfort to them if they will surrender to Him, and He will forgive those who are sincere, but the memory will always be there.

We need to always remember that God has the final say when life is over, He will still be there and He will be our judge. He does not determine our eternal destiny; however, He judges us based on our own decisions and whether or not we accepted the atoning death of Jesus on the cross, and consequently surrendered our lives to His Lordship. It’s not a corporate deal; each individual must come to Him on his own and establish the greatest of all relationship with Him.

There’s nothing to fear about surrendering to Jesus; there is no greater life in this world or in eternity.

If we want God’s protection and guidance for this nation, we need to come back to the Lordship of God and pray for His restoration of ourselves, our families and our country; not just to get what we want, but to submit to what He wants our lives to be. Pray for this nation and give God the glory for the restoration that He will bring when we cast our cares upon Him who cares for us.
